'The Christmas Present' exhibition at Flowerfield Arts Centre is in full swing, and will be ending this Thursday evening.  There has been many happy customers through the doors, and we still have a wide range of craft gifts on sale.  It's definitely worth a visit!

'The Christmas Present' Exhibition

Flowerfield Arts Centre will host an exhibition of unique craft gift items ideal for Christmas, made by some of the north coast's best makers.  Come along to 'The Christmas Present' to buy turned wood, glass jewellery, pottery, prints, scarves, bags and much more!  See photos of their work below.

Special opening evening from 7-10pm Wednesday 4th December.  Meet the makers and have a glass of mulled wine.  And a pottery demonstration by Adam Frew.

Open late (10pm) on Thurs 5th, Fri 6th, Tues 10th, Wed 11th and Thurs 12th December.

Louise McLean's Basket Exhibition

Flowerfield Gallery is currently showing the work of local basket maker and artist Louise McLean.  On display is a new range of work from Louise, entitled 'The Heritage Series', drawing inspiration from the surrounding coastline, green fields, gorse, heather and tumbling castle ruins she has created a stunning body of work.

Louise lifts the aesthetic quality of her work to exciting new levels by weaving with natural, found elements and by experimenting with oxides to dye the willow.  There really is an astounding array of pieces and techniques that show her personal artistic expression in every work.

The exhibition is now open and will run until 24th August.

Louise will also be giving some free demonstrations, the first was today and another on 23rd August.

There are also some workshops, spaces still available for Saturday 24th August.
